Bundan kırk iki yıl önce Beştepe’de şimdi bulunduğu yerde başlar Galeri Sanatyapım’ın serüveni. O yıllarda Başkent’te sadece bir kaç galeri yaşamını sürdürmekte ve sergiler az sayıda sanatseverle buluşabilmekteydi.

Galeri Sanatyapım’ın 1982 yılında açılmasıyla birlikte Ankara’nın sanat yaşamı hareketlenmiş ve Galeri’nin kurucusu, fotoğraf sanatçısı İbrahim Demirel bu girişimiyle,  özel galericiliğin Başkent’teki önemli temsilcilerinden biri olmuştur.

Galeri Sanatyapım hiçbir zaman sadece bir sergi mekânı olmakla yetinmemiş, yetişkinlere ve güzel sanatlara hazırlanan gençlere olduğu kadar, çocuklara da resim eğitimi veren bir sanat üretim merkezi olmuştur. Galeri’nin kurulduğu ilk yıldan beri usta sanatçı Kayıhan Keskinok, Galeri Sanatyapım bünyesinde yer alan Atölye ’de ilkeli eğitimiyle nice yetenekli öğrenci yetiştirmekte ve sanatı tutkuya dönüştürme azmini öğrencilerine aşılamaya devam etmektedir.

Çağdaş bir sergi salonunu, zengin tablo koleksiyonunu ve etnografik, toprak altı zenginliklerinden oluşan bir koleksiyonu 400 metrekarelik alana sığdıran Galeri Sanatyapım, kitap ya da katalog gibi kalıcı arşivler oluşturmanın yanı sıra, her yıl bir sanatçının desenlerinden oluşan Galeri Sanatyapım takviminin basım ve dağıtımını da kendi olanaklarıyla gerçekleştirmektedir. Ticari kaygı taşımaksızın özellikle genç sanatçılara destek olmaya çalışan Galeri, sağlıklı bir resim piyasasının oluşmasına katkıda bulunmak için çaba sarf etmektedir.

Güzel sanatların her dalında eğitim veren bir okul niteliği kazanmak, resim, fotoğraf, heykel, etnografik, toprakaltı koleksiyonlarını bir müze çatısı altında toplayarak gerekli tüm üniteleri ile eksiksiz bir kültür kompleksi oluşturmak Galeri Sanatyapım’ın en önemli hedefidir

42 years ago, the adventure of Galeri Sanatyapim started in the place in Beştepe where it is now situated. In those years, there were only a few art galleries in the capital city and exhibitions were attended by a small amount of art lovers. With the establishment of Galeri Sanatyapim in the year of 1982, the art life of Ankara was boomed and with this initiative, Ibrahim Demirel, who is the founder of Gallery and photographic artist, became one of the important representatives in the area of the private art galleries.Galeri Sanatyapim has never been satisfied with only being a place of exhibition, but also it has been a centre that provides art education to adults and the youth who are in preparation for fine arts faculties, as well as children.Since the first day of the gallery’s establishment, Kayihan Keskinok, who is master artist, has brought up many talented students with his principled method in the studio within Galeri Sanatyapim and continued to infuse his students with determination that aims to transform the art into passion.

Galeri Sanatyapim, which combines a large collection of paintings and a collection consisted of ethnographic opulence of underground in a-400 square metres place, keeps ever lasting archives such as books or catalogues, as well as with its own founds it realizes the publication and distribution of annual Galeri Sanatyapim calendar, each issue of which is constituted by drawings of an artist.  The Gallery, which has not commercial pursuits and aims at supporting especially young artists, tries to contribute establishing a wealthy paintings environment.The most important goals of the gallery are to be a qualified school that will provide teaching opportunities in all branches of fine arts, and to establish a complete culture complex with its all necessary units gathering the collections of painting, photography, sculpture, ethnographic and underground within a museum
